Description:

In-person and virtual reading services to people who are blind and visually impaired in the Chicagoland area. Services include education and support for seniors, summer youth program, an employment program, support groups, scholarships and information and referral.

Hours:

Monday and Thursday, 9:00 am - 7:00 pm
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Intake Process:

(1) Call the main number during listed hours to speak to a staff member and/ or set-up an appointment
(2) Staff will help identify the particular service (s) required and provide information on all requirements and how to apply
(3) Services are delivered By Appointment Only

Eligibility

(1) Resident of Chicagoland who is visually impaired and who is either: (a) A high school senior or, (b) An adult who is 18 years of age or older

Intake Procedure

(1) Stop by during office listed hours for reading services or, (2) Schedule a virtual reading session by calling (312) 236-0808, (3) Sessions are set up for a maximum of two hours, (4) Off-site one-to-one reading locations also available, (5) Services are delivered By Appointment Only
