Programs that provide legal assistance for people who are involved in criminal, civil and administrative disputes which involve pets, livestock, wildlife or other animals in situations where an animal has bitten or otherwise harmed someone, or where animals have been the victims of cruelty and/or mistreatment. Animal law deals with a variety of areas including veterinary, pet grooming, pet boarding/kennel malpractice complaints; animal property rights; protection of wild animals; zoo and circus conditions; leash, licensing and other animal control laws; animal rights; cruelty to animals; animal welfare; the use of canines in law enforcement and drug regulation; equine law; and the humane treatment of livestock and animals used in medical experiments.
