Voluntary Refugee Repatriation Programs

Programs that raise money or provide supportive services to help refugees or other displaced individuals return to their country of origin on a voluntary basis and reintegrate back into society. Assistance may include arrangements for the return of occupied undamaged property to the original owner; repair or reconstruction of damaged or destroyed homes and other property; temporary accommodations while repairs are undertaken, time-limited financial assistance; access to state-supported health, education and social welfare services; agriculture revitalization assistance; small business support; employment sector support; institutional capacity building; and other forms of assistance required to ensure the sustainability of the individual's or family's return. Included are programs for refugees living in the U.S. and those for displaced persons living elsewhere who need assistance to repatriate.
