Critical Service Status Information

Government Office Closures

Programs that gather and disseminate to the public, government agencies, the media and other organizations information about city, county, state and federal offices or the offices of elected officials that are closed following a disaster or large-scale emergency that has disrupted the normal functioning of the community's service delivery system.

School Closures

Programs that issue bulletins or otherwise provide information to the public regarding schools that are closed following a disaster or other emergency that has disrupted the normal functioning of educational services in the community. An emergency closing is any unscheduled closing, late opening, or early release from school because of inclement weather, an epidemic, breakdown in plant equipment, a threat to the safety or welfare of the pupils, or a locally, statewide or nationally declared emergency that affects the ability to operate school safety.

Social Service Office Closures

Programs that gather and disseminate to the public, government agencies, the media and other organizations information about senior centers, counseling centers, emergency food providers and other social service offices that are closed because they have sustained damage following a disaster or large-scale emergency that has disrupted the normal functioning of the community's service delivery system.
