Proof of income for all household members for the 30 days prior to the appointment; Social security cards or ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) for all household members; Copy of current electric bill within last 30 days; Copy of rental agreement (if renting) showing that utilities are included, the monthly rental amount, and landlord contact.

Resident of DuPage County; Total gross household income may not be more than 200% of federal poverty level; Applicant must be the customer of record with the utility company

Description

Program that helps reduce home energy loss and cost of utilities by completing home repairs after initial home inspections. Repairs include air sealing measures, insulating walls and attics, weather stripping of exterior doors, installing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and LED light bulbs.

(1) Call the Main number and ask to have a referral made to the Weatherization program, (2) A phone intake will be completed to determine program eligibility, (3) Eligible applicants will be added to a wait list, (4) Once your name comes to the top of the wait list, an appointment will be provided, (5) Applicants will need to provide all required documents at the time of appointment, (6) If applicant is approved, an energy auditor will come to the home to complete an energy audit, (7) The recommended repairs will be reviewed with the homeowner prior to any work being completed.
