Description
COVID-19 Funeral Assistance for funeral expenses incurred after 1/20/20 for COVID-19-related death. Types of related expenses to be covered include transportation for up to two people to identify the deceased, the transfer of remains/urn/casket, burial plot or cremation niche, marker or headstone, officiant/clergy services, cremation or interment costs, and others.

Required Documents
(1) Official death certificate, (2) Funeral expenses documents that include the applicant's name, the deceased person's name, the amount of funeral expenses, and the dates the funeral expenses happened.
Eligibility
(1) Death must have occurred in the United States, (2) Death certificate must indicate that death was caused by COVID-19, (3) Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national or qualified alien resident, (4) The expenses must have been incurred after 1/20/20, (5) The deceased person(s) does not have to be a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national or qualified alien resident.

(1) Call the Funeral Assistance Helpline during listed hours to begin the application process, (2) Documents can be submitted via fax, by mail, or online at Disasterassistance.gov.
