Essential workers in Illinois who must to leave their homes for work and need help looking after their children can apply for Emergency COVID-10 Essential Worker Child Care Assistance. There are no income guidelines, but applicants must show proof that they are employed in the essential services field, such as doctors and other health care service workers, first responders, law enforcement, public safety, transportation, and those working in the food and agriculture fields.  

Those interested in receiving this assistance are requested to complete the application, and can also go online to find emergency child care providers or call 888-228-1146.  Eligible famlies in need of a child care provider can also contact the YWCA Child Care Assistance Program in DuPage County at 630-790-660, as well as the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago at This email address is being protected from spambots.
