(1) Must be secured before starting building projects
(2) Submit application and required forms through portal on website
(3) Initial review of applications typically take 5-10 working days
(4) For Instant Building Permits, must call 630-693-7530 and get an appointment for any Tuesday or Thursday, 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Zoning:
(1) Visit website for all Zoning Regulations
(2) Anonymous reports of suspected Zoning violations can by made by calling the Main department number

Required Documents
(1) Completed copy of Buidling Permit Application (2) A copy of an accurate plat of survey accurately showing all existing buildings and improvements and showing the proposed location on the lot of where you intend to build, including the dimensions of the structure and the distances to all lot lines (3) A copy of the proposed construction drawings. If what you are building is a prefabricated kit, submit a copy of the recommended installation instructions (4) Copy of Sign Permit Application (5) Additional documentation may be required
