Description
Training, licensing, and support for people seeking to become foster parents, children in foster care, and their biological families. Foster parents also support each childâs connection to their family by providing transportation to or hosting sibling visits and visiting with parents.

Required Documents
Background check for all household members 13 and older, fingerprinting, medical evaluation for all adults in home.
Eligibility
(1) Must be over 21 years old (2) All household members 13 older must pass background check (3) Have a desire and commitment to care for and work with children (4) Must be stable, understanding, caring and in good health (5) Must be able to work as part of a team (6) Must have sufficient financial resources to provide for yourself and your family (7) Must be able to support childrenâs ties to their birth families and support reunification efforts, when applicable.

(1) Call 888-322-LSSI (5774) or email FosterAChild@LSSI.org to talk to a resource worker, or submit online interest form (2) Ask the resource worker about attending an orientation meeting for prospective parents (3) Submit completed application packet (4) Complete trainings (5) Complete home study interviews (6) Pass a home inspection
