Workplace Diversity Management Programs

Taxonomy Code: TP-3000.8000-950

Programs that provide consultation, training and/or other supportive services which help people in a particular workplace environment focus on the knowledge and interpersonal skills they need to work comfortably and effectively with people who have different cultural or religious backgrounds or sexual orientations, have a disability, represent a different age group or have other differences that without sensitivity and understanding become barriers to communication and productive interaction. The program may provide general training which helps participating employees clarify their own values and attitudes and understand how these condition their expectations of and reactions to others; or may help the organization address a specific workplace issue such as helping employers and co-workers adjust to transgender individuals who are changing their physical appearance and/or anatomic sexual characteristics to conform physically with their perception of self as a member of the opposite sex.
